Lamma CC Blitzes the Blitz
Hong Kong T20 Blitz is a Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament, which held its third edition from February 6-11 in 2018. The tournament is a five-team competition held over six days at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Mong Kok and features some of the most famous cricket players from around the world.
Lamma CC always does our best to support Cricket Hong Kong with initiatives such as the Blitz and it's not just because we like seeing our blazers shining proudly in front of a live TV audience. This year's coverage was phenomenal and streamed to 175 million potential viewers. At points during the tournament, it was like a game of "Spotto" with former members who have moved overseas frequently reporting sightings of Lamma CC members in the crowd on TV. Lamma CC will always support any initiative that supports cricket development in this wonderful city.
A great time was had by all! Big thanks to Cricket Hong Kong for putting on a great show.
Footnote: If anyone ever mentions "Tennis-ballgate", we cannot confirm nor deny that the weapon in question, a tennis ball, was brought into the venue by a Lamma CC member. Independent eye-witness accounts conclude that the throw that ended the crowd's favourite game was launched by a 10 year old bearing no connection to our great Club.
