S.E. England Summer Tour 2019 plans are afoot ...
We are making plans for a summer 2019 tour to London and the south-east of England, taking in some beautiful grounds in some outstanding countryside and one right in Central London.
We anticipate a 15 day trip, playing 4-5 matches and experiencing some of the best places and hospitality England has to offer.
We have 2 of our much respected members in Rob & Duncan looking into match plans to see that we play in some of the area’s best spots against teams that know our game.
The tour isn’t over a large area as we want to keep travel time and expense down to a minimum.
The Ashes Connection
One of the grounds we plan to play on, at Cobham Hall in Kent, was the original home of the Ashes Urn once it was recovered by an English team in 1883 following the “Death of English cricket” to the Australians just the summer before.
At the end of our tour we plan to travel up to Birmingham to play our final match and take in the 1st and/or 2nd day of the first test vs Australia at Edgbaston.
Travel & Accommodation
We are looking into the best value flights to London and staying at Air B’n’B or regular hotels, looking to keep the costs as low as possible.
Getting around the country will be by our dedicated minibus for the duration and driven by our very own dedicated Member & driver, Riggers.
Fancy Extending Your Stay?
You may want to travel back later than the planned 15 day tour to make more of your travel and that would be fine. Once we can confirm dates and costs we will ask for non-refundable deposits, make bookings and look into requested return dates.
For sure there will be more information to follow as we get things in place and we’ll keep you posted, but just to whet your appetite ...
